In today’s video of the Car Dealer Dirty Trick Free Zone I, Jill Merriam owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester and Key Hyundai of Milford, talk about my decision to get involved in the car business. When I got out of college I went into the finance feild and had a corporate job. I wanted to try this out becuase I had always grown up around the car business and wondered what else was out there.

The decision to get involved came to me one day in a meeting I had at my job. I thought what if I could turn around the negative way that many people think about car dealers. This seemed like a big task but I am always ready for a challenge. I decided that I would take this challenge on by providing excellent customer service, doing business ethically and honestly and by putting myself out there not as a car dealer but as an automotive and finance soultion provider.

In today’s video of the Car Dealer Dirty Trick Free Zone I, Jill Merriam owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester and Key Hyundai of Milford, talk about one way to improve the gas mileage in your vehicle.  Getting good gas mileage is becoming more and more important to car buyers and I like to lend my advice whenever I can about ways to improve the current gas mileage your getting. One way to improve your gas mileage is to check and make sure that the tire pressure is at the desired amount for your car. In the video above one of our certified technicians shows you how to check your tire pressure. I recommend to people all the time to find out currently what gas mileage they are getting and keep a log of it somewhere, usually I suggest in the glovebox. After you make these changes keep updating the log to see how your gas mileage has changed and in no time you will start saving money on fuel. I always loved Scrapper becuase he sort of reminded me of myself in a few ways. He got the name Scrapper becuase he was in fact scrappy and this reminded me of myself because when I was younger I was always out there trying my hardest in new things like soccer, band and a whole bunch of other stuff and while I was not always the best at these things I always gave it my all. I had a need to try so many different activities so I could see which best suited me and my interests and needs. What pet was your favorite growing up? In today’s episode of the Car Dealer Dirty Trick Free Zone I, Jill Merriam owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester and Key Hyundai of Milford, talk about tips for buying a car. In this episode I talk about, what I consider, to be one of the juciest tips and insight that I can give and that is the “wait one second I have to go talk to my manager,” conversation that I am sure everyone has heards at one point in their lives. After taking a quick little survey of my friends I found that the thing that they hated the most about buying a car was that exact conversation. The truth about these conversations, when the sales person leaves you to go talk to their manager, is that is just usually very technical and only about structuring the car deal. If you do not like all the back and forth you should not have to endure it. Let the dealership know and your salesperson know to just bring the manager right over to you. In today’s episode of the Car Dealer Dirty Trick Free Zone I, Jill Merriam owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester and Key Hyundai of Milford, talk about why people hate buying a car. I believe that much of the dislike of the car buying process can come from a past experience, confusion on all the information that is out there or it seems like the process takes too long. Whatever the reason may be, there is a lot of dislike out there when it comes to having to buy a new car. I know that does not top the list of how many would like to spend their time. In today’s video I talk about an experience I had with a customer where I learned about some of the wrong information that is out there. A large componet to any business is there advertising. Without advertising your product it would be hard to get people talking and wanting more information about what your selling. Lately I was think a lot about our advertising at my dealerships becuase I didn’t want to have that same old car dealer commercial. I wanted to stand out and make it known that I was there for the people to give good quality honest advice to them. I started watching a lot of different commercials and came across a few that actually made me stop, rewind and watch them again becuase they were so funny and upfront like in a toilet paper ad I saw. In today’s episode of the Car Dealer Dirty Trick Free Zone I, Jill Merriam owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester and Key Hyundai of Milford, talk about the key to success. Success is defined in many different ways and can have different meanings to different people so to say the actual key to success is one certain thing would be wrong. Measuring and acheiving success is undefinable becasue there is no one certain way. The reality is that you may have one certain idea of what success is but you will find that it may change over the years. 

People ask me often what the key to my success is and my answer is always the same, grit and determination.I think a lot can be said for hard work and always striving to do your best. I learned long ago that the  fact is that there will always be someone who is better at something than me but I believe that that is actually a good thing and it taught me that although I may not be the best at something trying my hardest and always doing the best I can will show. I look as it as a challenge and it also helps me to reconginze my weaknesses which can also be a key to success, knowing your strengths and your weaknesses.

Toyota Recall Winding Down is Good for Ct Hyundai Buyers

The fact that the government’s inspection of the Toyota recall has shown no major electronic programs is a positive for all new car dealer. As a Hyundai dealer in CT, we are supportive of this positive news. The reality is that a lot of the parts suppliers that supply Toyota with their parts supply other manufacturers too. A major recall by a competitor is not necessarily good news in the long run. The Toyota dealers in Connecticut really did an amazing job of stepping up to the plate to support their Ct Toyota customers during this recall. Lynch Toyota in Manchester, CT added extra technicans and extra hours to support their customers. The same was true of Colonial Toyota in Milford, CT and A1 Toyota in New Haven, CT.
