Hi, it’s Jill Merriam, Dealer For The People at Connecitcut’s Key Hyundai, and we can all use a simple reminder about summer driving. I know that I’m in my car a lot during the summer so I want to share some simple tips to keep in mind when you’re driving to and from your summer destinations.

Why do cars all look the same?

Key Hyundai new and used cars in Connecticut. www.keycars.comWhen hitting the highway for vacation this summer, or simply driving around Milford, Manchester, Fairfield, New Haven – all over Connecticut, have you noticed cars are beginning to all look the same? Similar shape, size – regardless of make and model?

Well, so have I, the Dealer For The People at Key Hyundai, so I did a little digging, and actually, this similarity is a design effort – not flaw – of auto makers, and there is a reason for it.

Hi, it’s Jill Merriam, Dealer For The People at CT’s new and used car dealer Key Hyundai, and it is true cars are beginning to look the same. This is not your imagination; it is a deliberate decision by auto manufacturers to meet federal guidelines.

Take a listen to my quick Nicer, Newer News video to learn how MPG (miles-per-gallon) and CAFE (corporate average fuel economy) has much to do with the similarity we see on the road today, and tips to decide how to make that all-important car-buying decision when cars look so similar:

What do you think? When all cars look the same, how will you decide which vehicle to purchase? My tips aside, what will make you choose? Tell me about it at jillcares@keycars.com, or join the conversation on Key Hyundai Facebook!
