Green (and social vision) is the New Black

March 2, 2009

Hyundai announced that it plans to keep up it’s investment in green technologies even in this down market.  It’s nice to see that Hyundai understands that this economy too shall eventually pass and that they need to make the investments necessary to secure our collective future.  We at Key Hyundai of Manchester, CT’s Hyundai dealer, have the same thought process.  What can we do to secure our long term future?

I have to admit, when the market first turned down, we were paralyzed with fear and started slashing expenses.  But, once we came out of the ether, we realized that we had to have a strategy for growth and long term prosperity.  And, that plan has to be in line with our values.  It’s sometimes hard to think strategically when you are worried about paying the bills, but my brother and I have stayed focused.  We are currently engaged in discussions about our strategic vision.  So far, it includes emphasizing our social causes, like Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters and Connecticut Childrens Medical Center and interacting with our customers in a way that provides value to them.  I am a Big Sister in Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters and a huge believer in the difference it makes. And, CCMC is near and dear to my heart because two years ago, they literally saved my 2 1/2 year old son Brady’s life.

What does this mean for you?  It means that you are buying or servicing your Hyundai from a local business that gets it.  We get the entry price for earning your business is giving the best deal possible.  We can sell you the same $12,988 Elantra that our competition can.  We also get that to provide long-term value to you, we have to provide more than a good deal.  We have to provide you with value-added, like Drive Worry Free at Key, new service loaners and a comfortable, no-pressure environment.  We have to provide you with what is important to you.  And what’s important to you might not be important to the next customer.  So it’s our job to figure that out and deliver on it.  And, we need to stay true to our values, like doing things ethically so we can put our heads comfortably on our pillows at night.

We hope that you take the time to visit us at www.driveworryfree.com.  Thanks for making us CT’s Hyundai dealer.  As always, please feel free to contact me directly at jillmerriam@driveworryfree.com
