Hyundai Announces Expanded US Production

August 4, 2010

Hyundai just announced plans to increase capacity in the US.  Hyundai currently operates a state of the art plant in Montgomery, AL.  Hyundai produces the 2011 Hyundai Sonata  and the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe there.  They are running at maximum capacity and still not meeting demand.  Hyundai currently has plans to move the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe into idle space in a Kia plant in Georgia.  Hyundai will then retool the line and produce the completely redesigned 2011 Hyundai Elantra with the 2011 Hyundai Sonata in the Alabama plant.

We were lucky enough to visit the plant in Montgomery, Alabama.  It is an amazing engineering marvel and an experience I will never forget.  After being at the plant, it made me so much more appreciate of each 2011 Hyundai Sonata CT customers buy and each 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe CT customers buy.  I truly feel proud to be a Hyundai dealer.

Let’s hope the momentum continues and Hyundai needs to open many new plants.  It helps to support American workers in the South and our employees at Key Hyundai in Connecticut.  For more information on what Key Hyundai does to support the community, visit http://www.hyundaictdealer.com/
