Losing Your First Tooth and Other Firsts

A picture of the pillow after the tooth fairy visit.

One of the most important things to a six-year-old is losing a tooth.  As an adult, it’s hard to understand why it’s so important. Is it because everyone else has lost a tooth and you haven’t?  Is it because you’re excited about the tooth fairy?  Is it that every “first” is exciting?  When I think back to all the firsts in my life, they were all pretty exciting (keeping it Rated G).  I remember the first time I rode my bike.  I thought my Dad’s hands were still on the bike only to finally realize I was riding on my own.  I remember my first trip to Disney World.  I can still smell the Polynesian Hotel.  I thought I had been transported to paradise.  As a seven-year old, the Polynesian Hotel was the most luxurious place in the entire world.  My son, Brady, lost his first tooth yesterday.  He was so excited because not only did he lose it, but it lost it at school.  That meant he was able to walk like a proud peacock to the nurses office and get a “tooth necklace” to put it in.  His dream came true!

  As a car dealer, one of the best “firsts” we can help people with is buying their first new car.  It is such an exciting experience!  At Key Hyundai, we have a first time car buyer program to help make the experience even easier.  If you are looking to buy your first car, a Hyundai is a great choice.  Not only do you get a lot of car for the money, you get the protection of America’s Best Warranty.  Our first time car buyer program allows you to qualify for competitive interest rates, even without established credit.  What could be better?  You get a reliable new Hyundai at a payment you can afford and opportunity to start your credit history on a positive note.  For more information on our first time buyer program, click this link and fill out this form.  Enter “first time buyer” in the comments field.

Key Hyundai Announces 2011 Hyundai Sonata is a Contender for North American Car of the Year

If the 2011 Hyundai Sonata becomes North American Car of the Year (and I just can’t see why it won’t), it would be great news for Hyundai owners and Hyundai dealers.  I’m Jill Merriam and I’m the owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester, Ct and Key Hyundai of Milford, Ct.  My family has been a Hyundai dealer in Ct since the days of the Hyundai Excel.  Shoot, the Excel put me through college (and then almost bankrupted my family).  We are so happy that Hyundai is finally on a protracted upswing and we are really proud of the merchandise that they are putting forward.  We are grateful that we can represent Hyundai to Ct Hyundai buyers.

So, why would it be great if the 2011 Hyundai Sonata won the 2011 North American Car of the Year award.  Well, the leasing world and leasing prices are all controlled by residual values.  A residual value is what a car is worth at the end of the lease.  These residual values are set by a company called ALG.  The reality is, the more awards the 2011 Hyundai Sonata wins, the more likely ALG is to raise the residual value on the 2011 Hyundai Sonata essentially lowering the lease payments we can offer.   To learn more about the 2011 Hyundai Sonata, check out this press release I just wrote at http://www.prlog.org/10954856

I’m curious what you think of the 2011 Hyundai Soanta.  Have you seen the car?  Do you like it?  Is there another new car that’s out this year that you like better?

Dirty Trick Free Zone: Episode #58 – Process and People are the Keys to Success

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tlmaId3b5o]

What is the key to success in life and in business?  What two things lead to the best possible customer satisfaction?  Through the years, I’ve figured out that they are people and process.  You have to have the right people “on the bus” and then you have to have clear processes that they follow.  When that happens, sales go up and customers are satisified.  I’ve been through the school of hard knocks in the car business and learned these lessons the hard way.  The reality is, the right people make all the difference.  The wrong people and you will not flourish.  I am always learning, though and I’d love to hear what you’re thoughts are on the key to business success.  Please add comments below.

Dirty Trick Free Zone: Episode #56-The Fall Season

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z–hVV4X628]

In today’s episode of the Car Dealer Dirty Trick Free Zone I, Jill Merriam owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester and Key Hyundai of Milford, talk about the season of Fall. Living in New England is great becuase you get the opportunity to experience every season and one of the most beautiful is Fall. To me everything about Fall is beautiful, the leaves, the colors, the smells and the weather.

Fall also gives you lots of opportunities to take road trips to different Fall festivals, pumpkin stands and fairs. A great vehicle for taking these road trips is the Hyundai Santa Fe, becuase it gives you lots of room and it is very comfortable for long rides. You can also load your bicycles on your Santa Fe if you use a bike rack and Fall is a great time to do some bicycle riding.

What is your favorite activity during the Fall season? Let me know by emailing me directly at jillcares@keycars.com. My name is Jill Merriam, owner of Key Hyundai of Manchester and Key Hyundai of Milford and I am the Dealer for the People.

I have learned that mistakes happen and I like to share what I learned with those around me.
