Doing the Work to Provide Automotive Solutions at Key Hyundai

Key Hyundai dealer for the peopleI read the great Seth Godin just about every day, a thought leader in business and life.  A post about “doing the work” particularly struck a chord with how I run Key Hyundai. The article was about “doing the work” with grit, focus and determination – and rewards will follow.

It’s not about acknowledgement and reward; it’s about being willing to do the extra work necessary to reach your goals.

It’s what we strive for every day at Key Hyundai as automotive solution providers trying to get everyone who wants to into a nicer, newer car.

Here’s a quick introduction to Seth Godin, and why I absolutely whole-heartedly agree that doing the work is the most important thing we can do to ensure we have happy customers, healthy communities, and personal success.

I am proud of the work we are doing at Key Hyundai both in the community, and as solution providers working diligently to get everyone into a nicer, newer car. I’d love to hear what you think about “doing the work!”

Why the Little Things Matter When You’re the Dealer For The People

jill merriam shares Key Hyundai success in details

Buying a car in Connecticut shouldn’t be so hard, and at Key Hyundai, we make it our absolute priority to provide the automotive solutions you need in a fast, friendly, and convenient setting.

And after being the Connecticut Dealer For The People for so many years, I’ve found HUGE success in the tiniest of details.

I often talk up Disney, because their working environment and business model is the perfect mirror for me to help anyone looking for a nicer, newer car find what they need and would love to drive.

Here, let me explain:

It’s usually the tiniest things that matter most: hot coffee, free Wi-Fi, clean cars, smiling, friendly folks ready to help you get you into that nicer, newer car.

Here in Milford and Manchester at Connecticut Key Hyundai, we really do mirror our every day activity around Disney World, of all the magical places. Not because of Mickey, Minnie and Goofy, but more because of the practical placement of garbage cans, the impeccable on stage and off stage behavior, and how if all the little things work well, then business magically takes care of itself.

Take a listen here, to see how important it is to manage the details, without micromanaging the business.

It’s smart business to pay attention to the details, and leads to customer service that makes a huge difference. At Key Hyundai, this Dealer For The People makes sure the smallest details are never overlooked for Connecticut customers looking for a new or used car.

Providing solutions in a detailed oriented business leads to customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Dealer For The People is my personal brand; it’s the positioning statement the Key Hyundai team rallies around to provide solutions for car buyers everywhere.

Jill Merriam Shares Tips for Successful Connecticut Car Dealership

Jill Merriam Dealer For The People meets fashion icon Eileen Fisher and talks businessWhen you think of a car dealership, the first thing that comes to mind is a fashion icon worthy of a world-wide business empire, isn’t it?

Seriously, what could a world class clothing designer offer a Key Hyundai, the Connecticut car dealer to help this Dealer For The People redefine the icky car dealer stereotype into a successful team of solution providers?

I’ll tell you what!

I recently met fashion entrepreneur Eileen Fisher, whose business grew into a global success by following four key principles. These same principles are what I use to run a successful automotive business that gets thousands of people into cars they love and can afford to drive every year.

They’re the foundation of everything we do here at Key Hyundai: how I live my life as the Dealer For The People®, and how Key Hyundai solves hundreds of problems for people needing nicer, newer cars.

Take a quick listen, and see if you agree that these four basics apply to just about any business you can think of:

What principles do you work or live by? I’d love to hear about them, or how you could apply Eileen Fisher’s principles to your line of work. Write me at jillcares@keycars.com and tell me about it!

Key Hyundai CT Car Dealer Year in Review 2012

As 2012 ends and we look forward to a renewed 2013 filled with strength, love and kindness, I like to reflect on the year’s successes, celebrations, trials and tribulations, not just as a car dealer Key Hyundai, but as an active member of our Connecticut community.

The recent tragedy in Newtown has made this reflection all the more poignant.

With our emphasis on providing car buying solutions and charitable solutions to our immediate community, the Key Hyundai team has the rare chance to really, really connect with customers, friends, families and colleagues who live and work right here in our neighborhoods.

And while the horrific events in Newtown have shattered us all to our very core, the ability to connect with those affected by these events and assist in even the smallest ways, is life affirming, and for that I am forever grateful.

I want to personally thank you for allowing me to be part of your world. I am dedicated to providing MORE appreciation to the communities where Key Hyundai customers and employees live and work.

I made this video prior to Newtown’s tragedy, but want to share with you even the smallest highlights of our community outreach throughout CT, to show how we are committed to our neighborhoods today and always:

I would like you to encourage you to practice acts of kindness in any way you see fit throughout 2013, to honor those gone, and connect with those remaining. It does make a difference!
