Recently an employee at Key Hyundai of Milford and Key Hyundai of Manchester was terrified at a change happening at work. Nothing major, just a different computer system, but it sure did leave her paralyzed with fear of attempting something new.

Why banks want car loan references


When you apply for a car loan at Key Hyundai of Milford or Key Hyundai of Manchester (or any Connecticut new or used car dealership), the bank often requires references.

Do you know why banks do that? Do you know what your responsibility is when you are a reference, or need a reference? What do banks do with all those references anyways?

Hi, it’s Jill Merriam, Dealer For The People at Key Hyundai, and being a reference for someone buying a car, or needing a reference, is quite different than co-signing a loan. How different? My Nicer, Newer News video explains what it is banks are looking for, why they do so, and what you need to know so you can choose your references wisely.

Most, if not all, banks require references regardless of whether your credit rating is excellent or far from it. Rest assured, you will need to provide references when purchasing a car, but this is not nearly the responsibility as co-signing a loan. Any questions?
